Teachers use focused readiness evidence to identify selected prerequisite needs, interpret what student work may be revealing, choose an appropriate instructional response, and recheck when doing so will help determine what should happen next.
From there, students move into structured opportunities to apply mathematics, make decisions, solve problems, discuss strategies, and explain their reasoning.
The goal is not more assessment. The goal is better instructional decisions.
Begin with a 20-Day Readiness Launch
START-STRONG begins with a structured 20-day launch designed to establish routines, gather focused readiness evidence, connect that evidence to instructional response, and prepare teachers for responsive use after Day 20.
The first 20 days are structured, but START-STRONG is not a 20-day-only program. Day 20 marks the transition from a guided launch into selective, need-driven use throughout the year.
Day 20 is a transition—not the end of START-STRONG.
After the launch, teachers return to START-STRONG when an authentic instructional need arises—for targeted support, rechecking, differentiated practice, readiness work for a new or transferring student, review, challenge, application, or mathematical reasoning.
Complete Grades 4–8 Access
Participating teachers receive the complete START-STRONG MATH™ instructional system for Grades 4–8. Grade-band labels guide intended use, but teachers may draw on earlier prerequisite resources when student readiness indicates that support is needed.
The system does not assume that every student in a grade-level classroom is ready at the same grade level.

How the Pilot Works
Your school identifies a Site Sponsor and a bounded group of participating educators. Teachers begin with the structured 20-Day Readiness Launch, then transition into Responsive Use for the remainder of the 90-day pilot.
Light checkpoints around Day 20, Day 45, and Day 90 help the school evaluate whether the system is useful, manageable, instructionally actionable, and worth continuing.
90-Day Institutional Pilot — $495 per school site
If the school elects its first Annual Site License within 60 calendar days after pilot completion, the full $495 pilot payment is credited toward the annual license at the current price.
At Day 90, the school decides:

Does START-STRONG MATH replace our adopted math curriculum?
No. START-STRONG MATH™ is supplemental. It is designed to work alongside your school’s existing grade-level mathematics curriculum rather than replace it.
Is START-STRONG another diagnostic testing program?
No. START-STRONG uses focused readiness evidence to help teachers make instructional decisions. It is not positioned as a standardized diagnostic assessment, universal screener, or adaptive assessment platform.
Do teachers have to use every START-STRONG resource?
No. Participating teachers receive access to the complete Grades 4–8 instructional system, but they are not expected to use everything. Teachers use professional judgment to select the resources that respond to the readiness needs they actually encounter.
