Description
Mission: Science Grades 6–8 brings together the complete Grade 6, Grade 7, and Grade 8 Mission: Science systems in one comprehensive middle school science bundle.
Across 204 NGSS-aligned task cards, students move beyond simple recall and repeatedly practice analyzing scientific information, interpreting evidence, explaining relationships, solving problems, and applying science in increasingly rigorous contexts.
THREE GRADE LEVELS • 204 SCIENCE MISSIONS • ONE CONNECTED SYSTEM
Each grade contains 68 task cards organized into five integrated sets, creating a flexible progression teachers can use throughout the school year.
Grade 6
Students investigate areas such as:
• cells, metabolism, and body systems
• traits, growth, and reproduction
• weather, oceans, and climate systems
• thermal energy and climate evidence
• integrated scientific and engineering challenges
Grade 7
Students work with:
• matter, particles, and phase change
• chemical reactions and energy
• ecosystem interactions
• matter and resource cycling
• Earth change and human impacts
• integrated capstone reasoning
Grade 8
Students tackle increasingly sophisticated work involving:
• matter and energy
• forces, motion, and physical systems
• ecosystems and evolution
• Earth and space science
• human impacts and environmental systems
• engineering and integrated capstone challenges
Students practice:
• analyzing scientific evidence
• interpreting graphs, models, diagrams, and data
• recognizing patterns and relationships
• cause-and-effect reasoning
• systems thinking
• constructing scientific explanations
• evaluating claims and solutions
• applying NGSS concepts to unfamiliar situations
• communicating evidence-based reasoning
